Thwarted purse-snatcher spits in woman's face

CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE

************************** 31-year old Kenny Boyer of 58 East Street will appear in court on August 30 after being arrested by City Police yesterday.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. an adult female was walking westbound on Queen Street East in the 300 block when a male came up to her and attempted to grab the shoulder strap of the purse.

The female pulled her purse away from the male, and questioned him regarding his actions.

The male then spit in the woman’s face and walked away.

Based on the description provided by the victim patrol officers arrested the accused very shortly after the incident.

Mr. Boyer has been charged with one count of assault, one count of attempt to commit theft, and one count of theft under $5,000.
