My mother and I spotted an American White Pelican in Desbarats heading west towards the Soo [Thursday night] at around 8 p.m.

This is news for local birders to be on the look out and for those interested in seeing a rare bird in Ontario.

It's easy to spot for it's quite large.

My mother and I were lucky to have seen one before in 2008 in Goulais Bay.
