Theft of scratch tickets leads to arrest

When the clerk was distracted the accused is alleged to have selected 6 lottery scratch tickets and concealed them in his pocket

On August 23 officers arrested 44-year-old Amey Roach of Sussex Road.

It is alleged that on August 16 the accused attended a convenience store on Trunk Road and when the clerk was distracted selected 6 lottery scratch tickets and concealed them in his pocket.

The accused left the store failing to pay for the items.

The accused has been charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on September 26.
