Glenn MacDonald has brought back a part of Sault Ste. Marie's past.

MacDonald, a self-employed chartered accountant who graduated from Sir James Dunn Collegiate in 1980 (remember the Grade 13 days?), purchased some Sir James Dunn Eagles athletic T-shirts when the school closed in 2010.

"Enough people who went to the Dunn asked me over the last couple of years where I got the shirts from, that I decided last fall to go and make some," MacDonald told SooToday.

MacDonald did so, and the project turned into a good cause.

MacDonald had 125 Sir James Dunn Eagles T-shirts made (not exact replicas, but they're certainly nostalgic enough) by a local designer and brought them to Marnie Stone, owner/operator of Stone's Office Supply and past organizer of a Sir James Dunn reunion.

"It was Marnie's idea to donate half of the proceeds to the breakfast club at Superior Heights…it's a great idea to donate to the breakfast club because there are a lot of kids that go to school without breakfast," MacDonald said.

A donation of $500 from sales of the T-shirts will be made Wednesday at Superior Heights Collegiate.

The green and gold Sir James Dunn Eagles T-shirts are available at Stone's in small, medium, large and extra-large, for $20 each.

There are still some shirts available for sale.

Word of the Dunn T-shirts has gotten around.

MacDonald said it's possible T-shirts for the former Sault Collegiate, Bawating and Lakeway high schools also will be made, with proceeds going to breakfast club programs.
