City seeks input for strategic plan update

SAULT STE. MARIE - Public input is welcomed and encouraged as City Council undertakes to update the existing corporate strategic plan to guide activities for the balance of this term of Council.

The City’s strategic plan is used to make decisions about the allocation of resources to achieve specific goals, guiding the activities of departments reporting to City Council through the Chief Administrative Officer.

The Plan addresses matters which are within the control of the municipality, as opposed to broader community issues beyond its jurisdiction.

The Plan is reviewed and updated in the middle of the Council term.

Since 2001, the City of Sault Ste. Marie has used a strategic planning process as part of an overall quality improvement program.

A new corporate strategic plan is created every four years (coinciding with the term of Council) to reflect Council’s priorities.
