NEWS RELEASE

LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY

*************************
Businessman and philanthropist Robert Considine hands off a check to Lake Superior State University's director of simulation in its school of nursing, Jodi Orm, on July 11 that covers the purchase of four remote tele-health stations.

The units – two lab-based and two field-portables – relay patient vital signs as well as two-way voice and video between doctors, nurses, and EMTs anywhere in the world.

The state-of-the-art tools will train nursing and paramedic students, and working professionals, in a simulation center jointly run by LSSU in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Looking on from left are Kevin Lasser, CEO of JEMS Technology; LSSU President Tom Pleger; and Bob Boesiger and Ron Meister, both board members with the Considine Foundation.

Run a Web search on "LSSU simulation center" to learn more about LSSU's nursing program and its burgeoning simulation center. (LSSU/John Shibley)
