Teen faces sexual assault charge following Massey break and enter: OPP

MASSEY - On Feb. 16, 2020, at approximately 1:48 a.m. members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter in Massey, Ontario.

Officers attended and located the accused inside the residence.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old youth, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Sexual assault contrary to section 271 CC,
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 CC, and
  • Failure to comply with undertaking contrary to section 145(4)(a) CC.

The accused was released on a release order and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on March 2, 2020.
