Some Sault and area residents have been impacted by a Bell Canada outage, interrupting Bell Fibe Internet and landline phone service.

“A damaged cable has impacted service for about 400 customers in the area. Our technicians have been working around the clock to restore service as soon as possible,” Nathan Gibson, media relations, Bell Canada, told SooToday Monday evening.

As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, it would seem service to some Bell customers has yet to be restored.

“We're in Sault Ste. Marie and have not had a working home phone since Jan. 22. We're all sick here and my parents are elderly,” Kat Schopp posted to Bell Canada’s Facebook page this morning.

Requests submitted to Bell Canada for additional information regarding this outage have yet to be answered.
