NEWS RELEASE

SAULT STE MARIE
POLICE SERVICE

***************************
On the 22nd of June, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service will be partnering with the Safe Communities Partnership, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services at the Kidz Summer Safety Festival.

Children have been learning about safety all year at school and we want to give them one more reminder to play safe during the summer so that every child returns to school, ready to learn in the fall.

The Kidz Summer Safety Festival is a day of interactive displays and exhibits from various vendors and service providers and will focus on fun and injury prevention activities.

The event will take place on Sunday, June 22 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.

The event will take place come rain or shine, and admission is free.

Activities will include a bike rodeo, bike registration, train rides on Obie the train, swimming and water safety, boating safety and much more.

There will also be a barbeque where lunch can be purchased.

Other organizations represented include Emergency Medical Services, the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre,  Algoma Public Health, Ministry of Natural Resources, Sault Search and Rescue, CN and Electrical Safety Authority.

There are opportunities to win door prizes including bicycles as well.

Come and join the fun and learn about safety.
