Algoma Public Health is advising users of the Hamlet of Desbarats water system that it is no longer necessary to boil water before using it for domestic purposes.

Recent laboratory sampling results have confirmed the safety and stability of the water supply.

March 12 original story

The Township of Johnson would like to inform the public of a planned water shutdown set to begin the morning of Tuesday, March 13. The shutdown is necessary as part of preventative maintenance of the pressure system at the Water Treatment Plant.

Repairs will commence at 9:30 a.m. and it is estimated the shutdown will last from one to six hours depending on circumstances.

Once the repairs are completed and the plant is up and running, there will be a boil water advisory in place until samples prove no adverse affects.
