Surgeon hides from cops in sleazy Trunk Rd hotel (photos)

A lot happened last night in Room 7 of the Nigredo Hotel at 625 Trunk Road. A neurosurgeon named Raymond, stressed out after hitting an unknown object (or person) in his Jaguar, decided to put in there for the night.

A lot happened last night in Room 7 of the Nigredo Hotel at 625 Trunk Road.

A neurosurgeon named Raymond, stressed out after hitting an unknown object (or person) in his Jaguar, decided to put in there for the night.

But he got more than he bargained for with the fleabag establishment's slutry owner Sophie.

Of course, Sault Ste. Marie has no Nigredo Hotel.

But part of Wellington Square Mall was transformed last night into a sleazy hotel room for Algoma Fall Festival's presentation of the deep, dark chamber opera Nigredo Hotel.

Click on the photo gallery below to see more pictures of Raymond (baritone Alexander Dobson) and Sophie (Patricia O'Callaghan - who was a really nice 17-year-old Iroquois Falls girl before she went to Mexico and had the obligatory epiphany-thingy that makes people decide to be opera singers instead of nuns or rock stars).

The popular fall festival closes this afternoon with 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. cushion-concerts by Faustwork Mask Theatre at the Holiday Inn. Refreshments for children will follow. For more information about Faustwork, or to order tickets online, please click here.

(NOTE FROM ANAL-RETENTIVE EDITOR-PERSON: Please refer to SooToday.com's News Response forum on our editorial page for a discussion of our intentional use of "slutry" to describe the character played by the sultry Ms. O'Callaghan in this production.)
