Start your engines! Boaters take part in annual poker run (20 photos)

Boaters from Canada and the United States fired up their engines for this year's Sault Ste. Marie Can-Am Poker Run at Bondar Marina Saturday morning.

It's the third year for the Poker Runs America event, which takes boaters on a poker run to Thessalon and St. Joseph Island before coming back to the Sault in the afternoon.

The agenda for the poker run was as follows:

9:30 a.m.- Opening Ceremonies at Roberta Bondar Park and Marina
10 a.m.- Start your Engines!
10:30 a.m.- Poker Run Start
11:15 a.m.- Card Stop #1 (floating stop at St. Joseph Island Bridge)
12 p.m.- Lunch Stop at Hilton Beach Marina Tilt'n Hilton
2 p.m.- Group start departing from Hilton Beach
2:40 p.m.- Thessalon, Ontario Marina Card Stop
3:15 p.m.- Richards Landing, Ontario Card Stop
3:40 p.m.- boats start returning to Sault Ste. Marie Ontario

The event concludes Sunday at 11 a.m. with the 'Charity Ride of a Lifetime' event, with proceeds going toward Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sault Ste. Marie.
