On top of hosting a minor midget showcase, the Soo Greyhounds played a pair of home games last week. First they faced Sarnia on Wednesday night and they the Kingston Frontenacs made their lone appearance at the Essar on Saturday night.

Prior to their game against the Greyhounds on Wednesday, the Sarnia Sting announced they signed a member of the Soo North Stars.
The North Stars were in Kirkland Lake on Sunday night to play game three of their Great North Midget League playoff series while the Soo Thunder were among the four teams competing in the minor midget showcase. Click here for a full recap.
The Soo Thunderbirds and Soo Eagles were both in action this week.
The Lake Superior State Lakers faced the Alaska Nanooks on home ice in CCHA action.
The opening round of the high school hockey playoffs wrapped up on Sunday night.
