SooToday.com's Sunday Night Magazine

This is the first edition of SooToday.com Magazine. To be honest with you, it's nothing to write home about. In fact, we're just a little bit ashamed of it. That's because SooToday.com Magazine is a collection of things we failed to get done.

This is the first edition of SooToday.com Magazine.

To be honest with you, it's nothing to write home about.

In fact, we're just a little bit ashamed of it.

That's because SooToday.com Magazine is a collection of things we failed to get done.

Over the past two weeks, we collected oodles of cool photos we wanted to show you, but between the big power failure and the complexities of adapting to a sophisticated new camera, they never got posted.

Well, the stuff piled up high enough on our desk that it started to develop a life of its own, if you know what we mean.

Finally having found a few moments to turn over the compost, we decided to shovel all these odds and ends into a magazine-like feature.

If you come to SooToday.com for hard news, you'll be out of here faster than the delivery guy from Mrs. B's.

That's okay.

If, however, you're one of the many SooToday.com regulars who also appreciate pictures and softer fare, we're hoping you'll find something of interest in the following links:

**************************************************************** Communuties in Bloom: What the judges saw

Communities in Bloom provincial judges Angela Vieth and Ken Hunter (shown) recently visited Sault Ste. Marie for a three-day tour of our most beautiful spots.

SooToday.com joined them for the better part of three hours.

To see some of what the judges saw (and a few things the City didn't want them to see) please click on the following links.

We consider these images, taken with our new, high-resolution Canon EOS 10D camera, to be among the finest we've ever presented on SooToday.com.

He made us so very happy...

David Clayton-Thomas and Blood Sweat and Tears performed at Bands on the Boulevard at Casino Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday, August 14.

Unfortunately, that date will be remembered by more of us as the time the lights went out.

The concert went ahead anyway, on generator power, before a miniscule crowd of appreciative Saultites.

SooToday.com took a poster-size image of Clayton-Thomas that you're welcome to print out in the largest dimensions your computer printer will allow, or you can take it to a computer-image shop and have it printed poster-size.

The Big Picture #3

Meanwhile, outside the casino, Constable Ben Bolduc of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was directing traffic.

Our Big Picture camera caught Ben dousing himself with bottled water during one of the hottest days of the summer.

We heard so many remarks around the office about Ben being, er, 'hot' that we decided to give you a poster-sized version of the image. To download it, click here.

The Big Picture #4

Many of you loved our August 12 photo of the International Bridge at sunset (the one with the seagull) so much that you asked about getting prints.

Here at SooToday.com, we haven't yet decided how to handle such requests.

For the time being, we've decided to release the image free in our Big Picture format.

To download it, click here.
