Some ADSB school bus routes not operating yet (updated)

Transportation update from Algoma District School Board for the areas of Sault Ste. Marie and Central Algoma Thursday September 12, 2013

The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) advises that as of today, all buses in Sault Ste. Marie are operating and all schools are open. 

Parents and students are reminded that there may be some delays due to road conditions in certain areas of the city.

Please note that if your street is closed, transportation services will not be able to service it.

In Central Algoma, many routes have been restored, however, please note the following school bus routes that will not be operating as of Thursday, September 12, 2013:

Arthur Henderson P.S. - Bruce Mines

  • Route 301 (Driver: Diane) – Cloudslee
  • Route 302 (Driver: Joann) – Plummer Area
  • Route 300 (Driver: Fred) – Bass Lake/Centre Line

Echo Bay P.S.

  • Route 15 (Driver: Mel) – Bar River
  • Route 21 (Driver: Annette) – Hwy 638 (No service east of McCarrol Lake Rd)

Central Algoma S.S.

  • Route 6 (Driver: Bev) – No service for Cemetary Rd., and Bar River
  • Route 5 (Driver: Scott) – No service for Ford, Lapish, and Lake George Road
  • Route 21 (Driver: Annette) – Hwy 638 (No service east of McCarrol Lake Rd)
  • Route 301 (Driver: Diane) – Cloudslee
  • Route 302 (Driver: Joann) – Plummer Area
  • Route 300 (Driver: Fred) – Bass Lake/Centre Line

We wish to thank our municipalities for their rapid response to repairing roads and for the ongoing communication over the past few days.

Parents, please continue to remind your children to avoid areas where water levels are high. 

We also remind all drivers and pedestrians to continue to respect the signage and barriers indicating road closures and potential danger.

We will continue to support our staff and families across the district who have been affected by the extreme conditions, and will continue to provide updates as necessary.
