Snowmobile destroyed by fire (4 photos)

Some damage caused to truck carrying snow machine, but no injuries reported

There were no injuries, but a snow machine is clearly no longer usable after it caught fire early Wednesday afternoon.

Stan Martynuck, Sault Fire Services platoon chief, told SooToday fire services were called to a residence in the 600 block of Northern Avenue East at 12:37 p.m.

A snow machine had caught fire while on the back of a truck parked in the residence’s driveway.

Fire crews extinguished the fire and pulled the snow machine from the truck.

There was damage to the truck’s bedliner, but the vehicle is still usable.

Martynuck said the cause of the fire is unknown, and Fire Services are investigating.
