A SooToday reader wanted to share this feel-good story and accompanying photos showing how a small neighbourhood can have a big impact on community.

“This year we hosted our annual Henry Street Neighbourhood Party and Canned Food Drive in support of the local Soup Kitchen,” the reader wrote to us. “Everyone on the street pitched in and donated which resulted in many boxes of canned food that will be brought into the Soup Kitchen. We also received a donation from a family on Prentice Avenue as well as a number of others.

“We had a parade float for the kids and the theme was Super Hero.

“Hats off to everyone who donated and we look forward to next year on Saturday, July 13.”
