************************ Yesterday afternoon three males assaulted another male.

It is alleged that 24-year old Martin Vine of 772 Wellington Street East tackled the victim as the victim was on the outside steps of the a residence, causing the railing to fall off and the victim to fall to the ground.

Martin Vine then [allegedly] punched the victim in the face and threatened to harm him further.

Once the victim was on the floor, 21-year old Mario Inookie Vine of 770 Wellington Street East [allegedly] punched the victim several times and jumped on his back, as did 24-year-old Steven Barry Nicholson of 138 East Street.

Once placed in the police cruiser Martin Vine started to kick the door of the cruiser with enough force that there was concern that the window and door were going to be broken.

When officers tried to calm Martin Vine down he [allegedly] threatened them, and began to spit and continued to kick the cruiser door until he arrived at the police station.

The victim of the assault was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Mario Vine was charged with one count of assault, and Steven Nicholson was charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.

They will both appear in court on October 4th.

Martin Vine has been charged with one count of assault, once count of breach of probation, 2 counts of threatening, and one count of mischief.

He will be appearing in bail court this morning.
