Slightly higher turnout for advance voting over last municipal election

After the third and final day of advance voting in Sault Ste. Marie, a total of 2,541 ballots were cast, up slightly from the 2014 municipal election.

A total of 956 voters participated in the third day of advance voting on Saturday, the highest turnout of the three days. Thursday and Friday voter turnout numbers were 688 and 897, respectively. 

Ward 1 had the highest turnout over the three days, with 678 ballots cast. Ward 2 was second with 605.

In 2014 a total of 2,532 voters participated in advance voting in the municipal election, slightly fewer than this year.
