3 p.m. update: Second Line East and Black Road Reopened to Traffic

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to advise that the intersection of Second Line East and Black Road is now open.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to advise the public of interruptions today at a major intersection in the city for the purposes of investigating a motor vehicle collision from earlier this week.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) are conducting an investigation.

At approximately 10 a.m. this morning there will be traffic interruptions at Second Line East and Black Road for approximately 45 minutes. 

Motorists can expect to be stopped for periods at a time. 

At 12 noon the intersection will be completely closed for approximately 2 hours. 

No traffic will be allowed through the area. 

Officers from Traffic Services, assisted by Patrol Services will be working at the following intersections to assist with the interruption and road closure and will be rerouting traffic from the area.

  • McNabb Street and Great Northern Road
  • McNabb Street and Black Road
  • Black Road and Third Line East
  • Second Line East and Pine Street
  • Second Line East and Great Northern Road

Please plan your route accordingly to avoid this intersection today and allow yourself a little extra time to get to your destination.

Also be aware and keep an eye out for officers who are working traffic duty at these intersections.
