Single vehicle collision results in serious damage to Queen Street offices (9 photos)

Driver hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries

A single vehicle collision on Queen Street East near the Essar Centre has heavily damaged at least one business and sent the driver to hospital on Sunday evening.

Witnesses at the scene say the vehicle jumped the northern curb on Queen Street sometime around 8:30 p.m.

After sheering off the front of of 246 Queen Street East, Superior Vision Care, owned and operated by Dr. Tom Culina.

It came to rest in the front of Hart Mobility at 242 Queen Street East.

The driver, described by witnesses as an elderly man who was in distress, was taken to hospital with what police say are non life-threatening injuries.

Police say no one but the driver of the vehicle was injured and no one was displaced from the building but no other details are available at this time.
