Single motor vehicle collision closes Fourth Line East

A motor vehicle accident is currently under investigation and the roadway blocked in the 900 block of Fourth Line East.

A single motor vehicle - white pickup truck - left the roadway and landed 15-20 feet down an embankment over 30 feet from the roadway.

Two occupants of the vehicle were extricated by Fire Services and transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The road remains closed at this time.

18-year-old Dylan King of no fixed address is in custody after a foot pursuit that started when a vehicle driven by King failed to stop for officers doing selective traffic enforcement in the Wellington St. West and Gloucester St. area.

King drove off at a high rate of speed and fled on foot from a vehicle in the Casino and boardwalk area.

He has been charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, breach of probation, drive without a licence and additional traffic offences.

He will appear in bail court tomorrow.
