Ninety percent of Saultites would support a bylaw requiring all workplaces to be smoke-free, according to a survey conducted for Take Heart Algoma, a coalition of agencies with a interest in cardiac health.

The survey of 625 randomly-selected respondents by VeriFact also found that 82 percent of us would like a bylaw rendering all indoor public places smoke-free.

Respondents overwhelmingly indicated they wouldn't stop patronizing places including bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bingo halls and the casino if they became 100% smoke-free.

In fact, significant numbers of people said they'd be more likely to attend.

85 percent of respondents said they are concerned about second-hand smoke exposure.

The only thing we smoke is our competition
