Members of the Fantazja Polish Dance Group (shown) were part of a local celebration today commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The event was organized and sponsored by Local 2251 and District 6 of the United Steelworkers of America.

Organizers commented that support for the annual celebration has dropped significantly at local schools, and special awards were given to Kiwedin Public School and Central Algoma Secondary School to recognize their high levels of participation.

SooToday.com is proud to present the following pictorial essay of this important community event.
