EASTER SEALS ONTARIO

Recent snow squalls ensure great conditions for snowmobilers

With less than two weeks before Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids, volunteers from the Sault Trailblazers have been working overtime to maintain OFSC snowmobile trails for the big event.

With recent weather creating the best snowmobiling conditions the Sault has seen in years, Snowarama 2014 promises to be the family friendly event of the season.

“If you haven't come out to Snowarama you have no idea how much fun you are missing out on. I personally find it a great way to get out and see all the fantastic trails that the Trailblazers snowmobile club has laid out for us and it's all at no charge if you raise the minimum pledge amount. Don't worry about coming alone because there are always lots of friendly people to ride with. You are never alone on the Snowarama trail!” comments Landon Odom, Snowarama Committee Chairperson.

Snowarama is a unique fundraising experience that combines thrilling snowmobiling with an opportunity for snowmobile clubs and snowmobilers to join in the camaraderie of family activities to help children and youth with physical disabilities.

Taking place on OFSC trails, the event challenges winter enthusiasts in communities all over Ontario to raise donations for Easter Seals Ontario.

Over the past 40 years communities all over Ontario have raised over $16.3 million while enjoying the outdoors.

Participants are encouraged to collect pledges before the event and anyone who raises more than $150 will receive:

  • Trail pass for the day
  • Breakfast at Gino’s Family Restaurant
  • Lunch & gas top-up (max. of $25) at Searchmont Resort
  • Prizes for lucky participants donated by Construction Equipment Co., Dynatype Motorsports, Joe’s Sports and Surplus, North Shore Sports & Auto, Premier Powersports and Rivercity Motorsports (all prizes valued over $200)

This full day family-friendly event is for all ages.

Children 12 and under can eat for free and ride with their parents for only an additional fundraised amount of $20 per child (in addition to the $150 amount).

Registration is at Gino’s Family Restaurant February 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Pledge forms can be downloaded here or picked up at the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie office.

Fundraising can also be done online. Register at www.snowarama.org
