Sault Ste. Marie Public Library is excited to celebrate Ontario Public Library Week from Oct. 17 to 23, 2021. This is a wonderful opportunity for libraries to raise awareness of the valuable role that they play in their community. Celebrate with us by participating in a variety of events, contests and fundraisers conducted both virtually and in person. Check out some of the activities provided by the Library this week.

Author Palooza

Join us for the Virtual Author Palooza 2021 event on the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library YouTube channel! We have a series of short interviews with local authors highlighting their writing experiences and showcasing their work. Let’s celebrate some of our local authors, including Kirstin Dias, Sharon “Dolly” Syrette, Alex Wood, and others during our 2021 installment of Author Palooza.

Food for Thought Food Drive

Thinking about our community, the Library is holding a food drive to give back to those in need. We invite community members to bring in non-perishable food items to one of our library locations (James L. McIntyre Centennial Library or North Branch Library). Those that donate will receive an extra ballot for our Gift Basket Contest.

Gift Basket Contest

Visit one of our library locations and enter a ballot for a chance to win a basket full of prizes! Receive an additional ballot for even more chances to win when you bring in non-perishable food items.

For more information, please call the Reference & Information Desk at 705-759-5236 or visit the library’s website at https://ssmpl.ca/
