Sault Ste. Marie Police Department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a husband and wife at a nursing care facility in Sault Michigan Thursday morning.
Police responded to a report of shots being fired at Medilodge on Meridian Street at 10:16 a.m.
Officers found an elderly couple on the grass outside the nursing home, where the wife was a resident.
Both were discovered deceased on the scene with single gunshot wounds.
A handgun was recovered near the victims.
The investigation is ongoing.
