Sault guy faces charges after police find vehicle stolen in Montreal

WEST NIPISSING – On Sept. 26, 2016, at approximately 10:32 a.m., members of the Sudbury and Noelville Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in the Markstay Warren area.

The vehicle was reported swerving all over the road then stopping on the side of Highway 17 in the Municipality of West Nipissing. The vehicle was located and it was found to have been reported stolen from Montreal.

As a result of the investigation, Steven Harley Pinnell, 33 years of age from Sault Ste Marie, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, contrary to section 354(1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
  • 6 counts of Breach of Probation, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
  • Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act; and
  • Careless Driving, contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.  

The accused is being held pending a Bail Hearing.
