Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. cut a cheque to the City this month for $445,897, as our share of continuously rising slots revenues from Casino Sault Ste. Marie.
That's up four percent over the $430,587 received for the same period last year.
It brings the total of casino payments to City coffers to $6,059,216.
Host municipalities of Ontario's five charity casinos receive five percent of gross slot revenue, to be used at the municipalities' discretion.
Last month. Mayor Rowswell indicated he'll be asking the provincial Attorney General to raise the City's percentage of slot revenues.
