Sault College has been the target of an attempted cyber attack.

“As a precaution, we have suspended certain information technology services to protect our network,” replied Rick Webb, Sault College spokesperson in an email to SooToday Thursday.

“We have retained an industry-leading cyber forensics provider to investigate the incident and assist with restoration of operations.”

It is unclear at this point as to when the attempted attack took place, and to what extent the activities of staff, faculty and summer term students have been affected.

“We are working diligently to address this issue, and we will provide further updates as we learn more about the impact of this incident,” Webb stated.
