SAULT COLLEGE

*************************
Sault College is opening its doors to prospective students and their families as it hosts its annual open house in partnership with the Ontario College Information Program (CIP) on Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the Common Link.

As part of the open house, Sault College programs and services will be on display to give local high school students and community members an opportunity to explore our college and get answers to any questions they may have.

Prospective students can also find out more about the many benefits of being a Sault College student, such as the study and ski pass partnership between Sault College and Searchmont Resort.

Admission to the event is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Sault College has something for all skills and abilities, and we are also encouraging students that require curriculum modifications to join us and check out our Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program.

Along with our fall open house, Sault College will also be hosting the annual CIP. This event gathers representatives from various colleges across the province to meet with and offer insight to prospective students.

This year, guests will have the opportunity to meet representatives from Sault College as well as various other colleges, including: Algonquin, Cambrian, Canadore, Centennial, Conestoga, Confederation, Fanshawe, George Brown, Georgian, La Cite, Lambton, Loyalist, Mohawk, Niagara, Northern, Ridgetown, St. Clair, St. Lawrence, Seneca, and Sheridan.

“Sault College is excited to host its open house along with the College Information Program. Our student recruiters, faculty and service areas will be on hand for the event and our guests will be able to see our incredible facilities, tour labs, and learn more about our many great programs,” said Tanya Running, manager Strategic Enrolment, Sault College.

“The CIP event occurring in conjunction with our open house also provides a unique opportunity for prospective students and their families to visit with representatives from various colleges, all in one stop.”

Guests will also have a chance to learn more about the variety of Sault College programs beginning in January 2018. Student recruiters will be available to answer questions about these programs, including:

Adventure Recreation and Parks Technician, Business, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Technician, Forest Conservation Technician, General Arts and Science – one year, General Arts and Science – university transfer, Mechanical Engineering Technician – Manufacturing, Natural Environment Technician and Technologist – Conservation and Management, Personal Support Worker, Police Foundations, Pre-Health Sciences, Pathways to Advanced diplomas and degrees, Project Management, Protection, Security and Investigation, and Public Relations and Event Management.

“As there is still time to register for our January start programs, and with the deadline to apply for equal consideration into any Ontario college program for the 2018–2019 school year quickly approaching, this event will provide the necessary information to make an informed decision,” added Tanya. Students can now begin applying for the 2018-19 year through ontariocolleges.ca.

Sault College’s student recruitment team will also participate in the CIP as they travel across the province attending similar information sessions. For more information about these events or about Sault College programs, contact Student Recruitment at 705-759-2554 ext. 2222.
