CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE

************************* Around 3:30 a.m. a homeowner at an address in the 100 block of Wallace Terrace had a rude awakening after a pickup truck drove through the back yard fence, took out a woodpile and came to stop when it struck a car parked in the yard.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene on foot.

It is alleged that a pickup truck driven by Robert Marshall, age 41, of 105-536 Goulais Avenue lost control of his truck while traveling westbound on Lyons Avenue.

The vehicle left the roadway and traveled along a laneway until it went through the fence.

Mr. Marshall was located a short time after and has been charged with one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit and one count of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

He will appear in court on September 13th.

Mr. Marshall did not receive any significant injuries even though the impact was strong enough to have deployed the air bags and totalled his truck.

The estimated value of damage to the car and property has not been determined at the time of this release.
