***************************************************************** The Red Cross Feast or Famine officially came to a close this week with great success.

This was the first year that the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District Branch took part in the event and they were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful efforts the community put forth.

Angie Woodcock, Branch Manager, presented top pledge collectors with a vast assortment of prizes donated by Maureen Webb and the Station Mall merchants as well as other local businesses.

The Third Place prize went to Kelvin Seabrook who raised $700 for our local branch.

Second Place went to Jean Wyatt, a long time friend and volunteer of the Red Cross who raised $805.

First Place was deemed a tie after a more personal challenge between Police Chief Bob Davies and Fire Chief Lynn McCoy.

Together the two managed to raise $1,779.

Other top collectors include David Overboe, Commissioner of Family and Social Services, who raised $590 and Allison Sartor, Roots Canada employee, who raised $500. The Sault College Personal Support Worker Class also pulled together as a team to raise $2,632.

All together our community raised an amazing $18,795.

All of the funds raised will remain with our local branch in order to continue providing much needed service to the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District.

The Feast or Famine will become an annual event in Sault Ste. Marie thanks to the overwhelming support of our local area.
