WEATHER ALERT

ENVIRONMENT CANADA

*************************
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island
  • Blind River - Thessalon

Rain at times heavy is expected Saturday and Saturday evening.

Rain ahead of a low pressure system is expected to begin overnight and become heavy on Saturday. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm are possible, however, some areas could receive rainfall amounts near 50 mm by the time the rain ends Saturday night.

At this time there is some uncertainty in the exact location of the highest rainfall amounts. It appears that the heaviest rain will fall near Lake Superior to the north of Sault Ste. Marie where a rainfall warning is in effect.

However, Environment and Climate Change Canada will closely monitor the situation and issue additional rainfall warnings if necessary.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.cpio-tempetes-ospc-storms.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
