Marie Branch.

As members of the community of Sault Ste. Marie, we Dr. Natalia Kargbo and Jillian Petingalo, have become more aware that the local Canadian Mental Health Association Programs are in need of increased promotion and support.

Many people fear talking openly about mental health and many are not aware of the programs available. Programs that teach people how to maintain good mental health, how to help others facing mental health crisis and those that offer on going assistance to people with mental health issues and their families.

We wanted to create a high profile event that would aid us in the increased promotion of the local branch of the CMHA and its programs while also allowing for the opportunity to raise funds to support the continuation of these very important programs.

Dr Kargbo’s second career as a fashion model sparked the idea of creating a dynamic event that put to use her fashion connections to the benefit of a medical area of our community.

Since this event is the result of a cooperative effort between members of two communities and different walks of life, our ultimate hope is that the positive effects from this event will spread beyond the community of Sault Ste. Marie and result in a lasting benefit to the awareness of mental health needs.

Our goal is to achieve a level of donation/sponsorship that will allow all of the ticket and silent auction proceeds to go completely to CMHA-Sault Ste. Marie Branch and its programs.
