Price of homes sold hits $56.6M in Sault area during month of August 2021: CREA

According to the Canadian Real Estate Association's statistics, a new record was set for the month of August, with the total number of home sales surpassing the 200 mark for the first time in the month of August.

A total of 211 homes were sold, an increase of 11.1 per cent from August 2020.

The dollar value of all homes sold in August 2021 was $56.6 million, up sharply by 30.1 per cent from the same month in 2020 and marking a record for the month of August.

New listings were 10.9 per cent below the five-year average and 13 per cent below the 10-year average for the month of August.

In August 2021:

  • 211 residential units were sold
  • $268,018 was the average price of homes sold
  • 230 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in August 2020:

  • 190 residential units were sold
  • $228,685 was the average price of homes sold
  • 292 new residential listings were posted

In July 2021:

  • 239 residential units were sold
  • $266,159 was the average price of homes sold
  • 255 new residential listings were posted

To compare, in July 2020:

  • 221 residential units were sold
  • $191,297 was the average price of homes sold
  • 238 new residential listings were posted
