As Ride for Sight Northern Ontario grows leaps and bounds every year, the planning committee comes up with new ideas to raise funds.

This year, they along with Great Lakes Honda are hosting the 1st Annual Car and Bike Show on Sunday, May 29 at Great Lakes Honda.

Come spend the day enjoying power, beauty and exotic automotive pleasure. There will be live music, Honda off-road vehicle test rides, a BBQ, a parade for all the vehicles and much more.

All makes and models of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome; customs, hot rods, rat rods, exotics, imports, antiques, choppers, bobbers, daily rides, you name it.

Registration will start at 9 a.m. for $20 per vehicle with the judging being done by people’s choice. A cash prize will be awarded to the top three winners along with other items in both the car and bike categories.

The parade will commence at 4 p.m. from Great Lakes Honda and travel down Pim Street to Queen Street, through the downtown sector and turn at Huron Street onto Bay Street.

From there they will travel down Queen St. to Dacey Road and come back on Trunk Road to Wellington, then up Pim again and into Great Lakes Honda. Come out and line the streets to show your support.

Held in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Ride for Sight raises money to fund research to pursue the causes, treatments and cures of retinal forms of blindness that affects over 1,000,000 people of all ages across Canada.

Since starting in 1979, it has raised more than $20 million for sight-saving research happening in universities and hospitals across Canada.
