Police seek witness to vehicle/pedestrian collision

On Thursday March 22, a vehicle struck a pedestrian at Wallace Terrace and Goulais Avenue, however, this was not reported to the City Police until March 29.

As a result, the City Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle involved.

The driver or anyone with information regarding this incident can contact Cst. Joe Poderys at (705) 949-6300 ext. 383.

On March 29, a male attended to a residence on Peoples Road.

The male at the residence was known to the accused.

Some drinking occurred and an argument between the two ensued which resulted in the accused [allegedly] knocking out some of the victims teeth and also pushing him down a flight of stairs.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

32-year-old Matti McClelland of Willow Ave. was arrested by City Police officers and charged with aggravated assault and breaching a condition of a release document which prohibited him from consuming alcohol.

He will be appearing in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday Court) later this morning.
