Police apprehend pit bull

******************** On the 6th of December just before 3 p.m. City Police were advised that the Humane Society was attending in the 100 block of Gagnon Road in Prince Township.

This was in regards to a sighting of the pit bull that City Police had alerted the public about late last month.

The Humane Society was able to apprehend and secure the dog without incident.

Yesterday afternoon the owner of the dog attended at the Humane Society and confirmed the identity of the animal.

At this point the Humane Society will be proceeding under the Ontario Dog Owner's Liability Act.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank the public for the calls that were received regarding this incident.
