As part of the Platinum Jubilee, celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne, nominations are being accepted for a commemorative pin and certificate which will honour local community leaders who have made significant contributions to the community.
"If you know someone who has made a significant contribution through their work, volunteerism, activism, or community leadership, please consider nominating them for this once in a lifetime exceptional recognition," a release from the office of Sault MP Terry Sheehan said.
Applications are due by May 31 at 11:59 p.m. and no late submissions will be accepted.
Nominees must be Sault Ste. Marie residents who have made a meaningful and significant contribution to the community and made an impact through work of volunteering in areas that include, but aren't limited to, arts, science, innovation, community service, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, sports, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Nominations can be submitted here.
