Pine Street Marina's boat launch closed after boat sinks (5 photos)

Boat is refloated and removed but launch expected to remain closed until sometime early tomorrow

A boat being launched sank at the Pine Street Marina late this afternoon.

Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services first responders and marina staff were seen on scene, surrounding the boat with floats.

The boat was refloated and hauled out of the river in the space of a few hours but the launch remains closed as marina staff skim the surface of the water around the dock where the boat sank.

Marina staff on scene say the boat launch should be reopened in the morning.

SooToday will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
