The Sault Ste. Marie Cricket Club held its Bollywood Night fundraiser at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre Saturday night, featuring food catered by Rasoi The Indian Kitchen and live entertainment from Sunny. V Rockstar & Troupe from Toronto.
The event sold out, far exceeding the cricket club's expectations.
“It’s getting better every year,” said Sault Ste. Marie Cricket Club chair Neeta Marwah during the fundraiser. “It’s just the community, you know? It's so welcoming.”
"Sault Ste. Marie, as you know, is a multicultural society - they welcome people from all over.”
All proceeds from the event will go toward a cricket pitch for the club.
