10:25 p.m. update

Officers with the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently at the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on McNabb Street at Willow Avenue.  

A pedestrian was taken from the scene with life threatening injuries.  The affected area will remain closed to traffic while officers continue the investigation.  We ask that motorists avoid the affected area to allow officers to safely conduct the investigation.

10 p.m. original story:

A female was taken to Sault Area Hospital Saturday evening with what Sault Police described as serious injuries after a pedestrian/vehicle accident on McNabb Street between Willow Avenue and Great Northern Road.

The road was closed to traffic by police between Willow and Great Northern as the Sault Police traffic unit investigated the scene.

The accident was called in at 6:34 p.m. Saturday, police told SooToday.

The road was still closed as of 10 p.m.

Police say there were no injuries to the driver of the vehicle.

It is unknown when the road will be re-opened to traffic.
