A number of SooToday.com readers contacted us yesterday, wondering why they'd received unexpected $1,800 cheques.

It wasn't a bonus for pensioners, as some readers were hoping.

ASI spokesperson Brenda Stenta tells SooToday.com that it was all a big mistake: the cheques sent out this week are actually the March 1 pension cheques.

They were mistakenly sent out early, Stenta tells SooToday.com.
