About 130 people, mostly parents, gathered at St. Francis School last night to discuss last week's handgun incident there.
Details of the event were reviewed and parents were reassured by officials of the Huron-Superior Catholic Disctrit School Board that the place remains a "safe and loving" environment and that precautions will continue to be taken to ensure the safety of students.
"Parents attending the meeting were respectful of the ground rules," the board said in a written statement.
"Though the emotions were high in the school community, good positive dialogue occurred."
"School and board officials will be analyzing the facts from the investigation of the incident and will be determining consequences according to legislation and board policy."
