Ontario Provincial Police have issued a warning about a suspicious letter received by a Haviland Bay man.

A 65-year-old man received a letter last week from "Loteria Primitiva" in Madrid, Spain.

The lottery, ostensibly overseen by the "Santa Lucia Security Company," advised the man that he was one of 17 winners, with a winnings share in the $11 million range.

The man was asked to forward personal banking information, including account numbers and routing information, to claim his winnings.

OPP ask that you contact them if you receive such an offer.

These bogus lottery offers usually target seniors, they say, and many people have lost thousands of dollars.
