Four liquor charges were laid last night as OPP broke up a well-organized drinking party on the banks of the Goulais River in Fenwick Township.

Police found a group of 40 to 50 youth set up in tents there.

Many were drinking underage, they said, and the group was sent on its way.

OPP issued a news release this morning indicating that they're prepared to take pro-active measures if advised that such parties are taking place.

"While most of our youth are very responsible about drinking and driving, the police will be vigilant to try to prevent any tragedy in regard to alcohol-related accidents," the release said.
