Ontario Liberals consistently at table in support of Algoma Steel: Jaclynne Hamel

Each Monday, Sault Ste. Marie’s city council gathers to discuss our community’s key initiatives and priorities. Yesterday, city council’s agenda included responses to Mayor Provenzano’s open letter to all candidates and party leaders regarding Algoma’s Companies Creditors’ Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceedings.

As shown in the agenda addendum, Kathleen Wynne is the only leader of a political party to respond to Mayor Provenzano’s letter.

Additionally, she is the only one to formally commit her support for Algoma and the Sault. This further proves the Ontario Liberal Party’s dedication to Sault Ste. Marie’s families, workers, and businesses.

The Ontario Liberal government has worked with Algoma to find the best possible outcome for the company, employees, and our community. Ontario Liberals have consistently been at the table, working to ensure the success of Algoma and our steel sector.

In regards to bringing Algoma out of CCAA protection, we know that further work needs to be done, and we pledge to finish this work.
