One new fire has been confirmed in the Northeast region this afternoon, Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services stated in a release issued today.

Pembroke 2 is being held at 0.3 of a hectare, and is located west of Round Lake, just outside of the boundary of Bonnechere Provincial Park.

There are currently three other active fires in the region, which are either being held or under control.

The fire hazard in areas located north of Cochrane into the Far North is mostly low to moderate, as well as along the North Shore of Lake Huron.
