************************** Occupy Sault Ste. Marie is a peaceful protest for concerned citizens to gather and join in union with the Occupy Movement for a commitment to change in our world within our lifetime.
What
There is an Occupy SSM planned for this Saturday October 15, 2011.
This event is for anyone that recognizes our world is facing major issues and the need for significant change.
Saultites are invited to a peaceful sit-in to discuss different issues affecting our community, nation, and world.
Occupy Sault Ste. Marie is a public gathering meant for people of the community to come together and identify different social, economic, and political issues.
This is the chance to discuss, learn, and brainstorm how we can collectively make a difference for the future.
This event will be ongoing, so be prepared to get involved and help us make a change.
Why
To show our support and promote solidarity with Occupy Together and Occupy Canada.
This event is meant to get people of the community interested in and educated about our cause and what our goals are.
The Occupy Movement is a group of concerned citizens that want to see transparency within governments.
This is an opportunity for Canadians to rebuild a democracy of honesty and integrity, one that is focused on humanity and social systems.
This protest is a chance to speak out against the corporate heavyweights that have influence over our politicians, and put a stop to the special treatment of these wealthy corporations.
Who
Everyone and anyone that is interested or concerned about the social and economic systems of Canada.
Dedicated citizens this is a chance to learn more about how we can create change in our lifetime, and protect our country for generations to come.

The event will be running indefinitely, so please, you are welcome to camp out.
Please come out and join us in support whenever you can, and we will keep you posted on any changes or special events.
We urge you to be generous and respectful, and to come out for however long you can make it.

Please remember to be respectful when parking.
Try to arrive by foot, bicycle, transit or carpool if possible as parking downtown can be an issue due to restrictions and congestion.
